If you cannot find a job or are discriminated against due to age, or placed under home quarantine ;P, having a home business is a viable option.
Managing a home business doesn't mean that you are going to have a stress free life. The truth is you no longer have bosses to drive you crazy or chase after you for targets but you also no longer have bosses to give you your paycheck. In other words, you write your own paycheck.
Be aware that there are many undesirable characters out there waiting to exploit your eagerness and drive to be financially free. My advice is to avoid the following scams:
-Envelope stuffing
-Manual stapling
-Craft assembly
-Email Processing
-chain letters
A genuine Home business just like any other business have to create value or solve problems for others through your products and/or services. It might take the following forms
a)Services to individuals and firms
b)Manufacture or sale of products
c)mail order
d)Sale of personal skills
If you cannot decide on what type of products or services you can sell or provide, try searching out the yellow pages and get some ideas.
Ensure your think through the following aspects:
-profit potential/margin
-Need for business/demand for services
-capital required/cost
-Experience needed/cerification required
but knowing what to do is not enough. Do it!
One book to get you started:
"How to start your own business on a shoestring and make up to $500,000 a year"
